* Startups, crypto platforms among Bengaluru Impact awardees

The Bengaluru Impact awards were given away on Day 2 of Bengaluru Tech Summit 2021, to a number of recent as well as established startups from Karnataka. Bigbasket, Apna, Meesho, Curefit, Blackbuck were among those which took home the laurels, watched by a startup audience with participants from deep tech and medtech.

  • Napanda Poonacha of Kodagu district, a progressive farmer, who hopes to be recognized as a pro-nature farmer

* ‘The Best Cyclist Men’ Awardee

Charith Gowda, a first PUC student of Sapient College, Vijayanagar II Stage in city, has bagged ‘The Best Cyclist Men’ award by securing three Gold Medals — Time Trial, Mass Start and Relay Categories — in the 18th National Mountain Bike Cycling Championships held at Alandi in Pune, Maharashtra, between Oct. 29 and Oct. 31

* Three Bengaluru-based groups make it to Facebook’s community accelerator programme

A group that guides women on travel; a community that advocates new-age parenting; and a section that connects city women with entrepreneurs. Bangalore Women Power, Adventure Women India and Moms of India — were recently recognised by Facebook at the first edition of the Community Accelerator Programme

Karnataka Government’s RDWSD Department Awarded ‘Best Communication in Sanitation Award 2021’ by ISC

The Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department (RDWSD), Government of Karnataka, has been bestowed with the Best Communication in Sanitation Award for 2021 in digital communication category by Indian Sanitation Coalition (ISC) – Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
